Florida in the first place" That’s the feeling that you will get when you stay at the Ferndale
Lodge.
THE FERNDALE LODGE is located in the south end of the small town of
Sebastian Florida. We are right on the Indian River, just across from the
Sebastian Inlet and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Although not a
"resort" in the current sense of the word, the Ferndale Lodge does
offer many "natural" amenities that will help you to relax, unwind,
and enjoy Florida the way it used to be.
There
are over 65 tall palm trees on our
property as well as almost a dozen very large old river
oaks.
Our front yard features two very large and colorful "bottlebrush
trees" surrounded by several native orange trees and some unusual coconut
palm trees.
A shuffle board court , picnic tables, and barbecue grills are all there
for the enjoyment of our guests.
The back yard of the FERNDALE LODGE covers almost 200’ of
grass covered river frontage. Our 250’ fishing pier and boat
dock includes 8 boat slips (two are covered) with water
and electricity provided. Guests are welcome to fish off the
dock or just sit and relax on any one of the several comfortable
benches. Have an early morning coffee and watch the sun come
up over the spoil islands.
We offer FREE boat slips to our guests, as well as FREE canoe and row
boats to those adventurous to use them. The Indian River is shallow along the
Sebastian coastline -- about 2 to 3 feet of water off our dock. We can
accommodate boats up to 20’ .
Public launch ramps are within 1/2 mile of the lodge. We have adequate
parking for boat trailers on our property. Several nice uninhabited "spoil
islands" lie just off our property - they make excellent picnic areas and
are great places for kids to explore. Weather permitting, its an easy quick
canoe ride from the Lodge to the Islands.
The Intercoastal waterway is just to the East of the spoil islands with
plenty of deep water for almost any size boat.
For those less nautically minded, the FERNDALE LODGE offers you something’s
not often found in Florida: PEACE, QUIET, AND SHADE.
Situated throughout the Lodges’ backyard you will find several
comfortable hammocks, lawn chairs, more picnic tables, a nice old wooden swing,
and a cool and breezy shaded patio/picnic area.
